Akisa Wandera is a popular Kenyan news anchor, journalist and reporter at KTN. She is known and loved for her fluent English and lovely voice.

Age

She was born  in Buruburu Estate in Nairobi on 13th July 1992.

Family

Akisa is the 2^nd born amongst six children. She has four sisters who are, Irene Nekesa, Sharonne Kiaye, Vivian Nabwire, Velma Wandera and her brother Michael Brooks. Her mother, Lyndah Amran Olivier is also very much alive and she has a father whose details are unknown. Her family is from the Luhya tribe.

Education

Wandera went St. Cecelia Misikhu Girls for her secondary education. She applied both at Daystar University and Kenya Institute of Mass Communication for herb further studies but got a letter from the Kenya Institute of Mass Communication first where she got her degree in journalism against the wishes of her parents who wanted her to be a teacher.

Akisa Wandera Career

The renowned presenter was very passionate about journalism since she was little girl and always knew she was going to end up on TV screens. She started working at the Chinese TV station GBS where she worked for two months before joining Ebru TV in 2014. Akisa got a chance to be on the screen when the lunch time news reporter was late and they picked her to do the news. Since she did well, she became a news anchor and presenter at Tabletalk TV show in Ebru.

In 2016, she landed a job in KTN and fortunately got on air a few hours after her first day. She was scared but did fairly well on her test with great reviews from viewers and producers. Later that night, she was officially introduced by Ben Kitili as the newest talent and next big thing in Kenyan media. She has since then risen to become one of the most loved presenters gracing our screens. In 2015, she was the 2^nd runners up as Kenyan reporter of the year at the Kenya Media Council. Early 2022, Akisa Wandera left KTN TV amongst mixed reactions from the public and colleagues. It is said she has accepted a new position at BBC and many await her return to the screens.

Love Life

She revealed that she only dated back in campus and things did not work out. She has not been linked to any man and is currently single.

Salary

Rumors surfaced online with people saying that she together with presenter Mashirima Kapombe were earning 1.2M a month. She laughed at this and said they were lies but has refused to say the real figures.
