Amina Abdi was born in Nairobi in the year 1989 making her 31 years as of 2020.

Family

Amina Abdi’s parents are both Borana. Her mother is from Isiolo while her dad is from Moyale. Amina has a sister called Shukri Abdi.

Education

Amina attended The Kenya High School for her Secondar School education and completed in 2006.

Background and Career

Amina Abdi wanted to study Law and International Relations when she was younger. Her parents could not afford to send her to college sadly. She was working as a receptionist earning a mere Ksh.3500 when she saw a Homeboy Radio School advert and decided to apply.

The best student was going to be awarded an internship at Homeboyz Radio. Amina worked hard and landed herself the spot and that was the start of her radio journey.

Amina Abdi later joined Capital FM, Maisha Magic and even hosted K24 Alfajiri, a morning show on K24 TV. In November 2017, NTV Kenya unveiled her as the new host of The Trend, taking over from Larry Madowo. Amina took 2 months to accept the offer because she was used to the family she had made at K24. Finally, she later decided to take up the challenge and accepted the opportunity to host one of te biggest shows in Kenya at the moment.

Husband and Child

Amina is married to John Rabar, commonly known to many as DJ John, the CEO of Homeboyz Radio. The two have a son together called Hami.

Salary

Amina Abdi Rabar earns approximately Ksh. 350000 from her hosting job alone. Besides that, the renowned presenter has also ventured into business.
