Find Out Everything That Kisumu Based Mtumba Man Was Offered

Mtumba man is the name Sande Mayau was given after the viral video which trended for the better part of last week and even this one. He was seen on various videos on social media, tactfully and skilfully using humour and language to gain customers. He has sold clothes for the better part of his life and says that life has not been so easy for him. Despite finishing high school in 2011, he has never been employed. “For the first time I have boarded an airplane!” He was delighted.

A New Beginning

Speaking on Jalango TV, Sande said that he was grateful for Devine Collections taking a chance on him. Remember the only reason he came to Nairobi is because of this company. It specializes in men’s classy outfits and it paid for his trip. He was informed on the show that Devine Collections were willing to take him in as their brand ambassador as well as pay his rent, dress him for five years and also put him on full salary. The man almost cried on air!

That is not all. Jalango also informed him that a famous mitumba seller in Kenya called Jane who resides in Gikomba, had also decided to assist him. Jane’s company called Best Mitumba Bales  had brought him two bales of clothes which were 45kg each. One bale was of women’s skirts while the other was of blouses. Jane explained that they had given him this because Sande always dresses in women’s skirts and blouses. The total would amount to Ksh.100,000.

Life Change

Another offer was by Notify Logistics. This is a company in Nairobi that provides physical shop spaces for small businesses to sell their products. They also have trainings and even market the products for the businesses. They offered to give Sande training and also promised to award him with Ksh.100,000 and to market his products for him.

OdiBets Kenya were not left behind. Because Jalango happens to be one of their brand ambassadors, they awarded him Ksh.50,000 to boost his business to the next level. This was a life change for Sande. He was grateful and we wait to see what he will do next.
