Gideon Kipsiele Towett Moi is a Kenyan politician and the current senator of Baringo County. Kipsiele is also the chairman of the Kenya African National Union (KANU), the party that was ruling Kenya for a long time. He is following in the footsteps of his father and is expected to be one of the 2022 presidential elections.

He was born on 22nd October 1963.
Family
Moi is the youngest son to the late and former president Daniel Arap Moi and Lena Moi. His siblings are; Philip, Jonathan, John Mark Raymond, Jeniffer Jemutai, Doris and June Moi. His mother, Lena, passed away in 2004 and his ex president father on the February 2020.
Gideon Moi Education
His primary education was attended at Kenton College Preparatory, one of the most expensive schools in the country. He later on attended St. Mary’s School Nairobi and Strathmore School for his high school education and finished in 1982 from St. Mary’s School. Gideon Moi went to Strathmore University, a popular international university and graduated in 1980. The governor is also an alumni of University of Salford with a bachelor’s degree in Economics.
Career
Towett was and is a respected businessman before his political career. He, together with his wife own a couple of businesses that are thriving. Moi began his political career as a member of parliament for Baringo Central in 2003. Gideon was elected into office as senator in 2013 and has served to date.
His party, KANU, formed an alliance with Uhuru Kenyatta’s party and backed him up during the 2017 presidential elections. In addition, he is also the chairman of the senate ICT committee and announced that he was going to run for president in the 2022 elections. He is expected to go up against William Ruto, his fellow tribesman, in the 2022 presidential elections. His popularity has increased ever since announcing his decision especially since he is the son former and late president Daniel Arap Moi.
Marriage
He is happily married to Zahra Moi and are proud parents of three children; Kimoi, Kigen and Lulu.
Gideon Moi Controversy
The Guardian brought forth a report on Kroll in August 2007 which ordered by the former President Mwai Kibaki. Its purpose was to investigate people who were allegedly looting state and public funds. Gideon Moi’s name was among those listed and he was estimated to be worth $550 Million around that time.
