Hassan Mugambi Age

Hassan Mugambi was born on 26^th July in 1988 in Kibra Slums, Nairobi, Kenya. He was raised in the same area.

Education

He attended Meru Boarding Primary School for his Primary School education before joining Kanyakine High School located in Meru County. Hassan Mugambi attended the East African School of Journalism then joined the University of Nairobi to continue with his degree.

Career

He began his career at Pamoja FM, an upcoming radio station in Kibra. His big opportunity came when CGTN which was called CCTV then,started poaching journalists from some of the biggest media stations. This left big media stations with vacancies. With this in mind, Hassan applied to K24 and got a call back.

However, Hassan was very broke at the time. He had to borrow a suit from a friend in order to attend the interview. Fortunately, Hassan landed the job after being put on probation for 3 months. He used the platform to sharpen and master Swahili. He has worked as a reporter, producer and news anchor while at K24.

In 2017, Hassan joined Citizen TV where he still works to date.

Salary

Hassan earns approximately Ksh.500,000 from his work at Citizen TV.

Controversy

In January 2019, Hassan made headlines for smacking his fellow journalists for blocking his shot at a press briefing. He however apologized and vowed not to repeat the same mistake.

Hassan Mugambi Wife and Children

in 2023, Hassan Mugambi got married to Mwanaidi Shishi in a private wedding. The ceremony took place at Makina Mosque in KIbra, Nairobi. Mwanaidi is a former video vixen who currently owns several businesses including a restaurant, Mama Nilishe, in Kilimani. She is also a proud mother of two sons.

Mwanaidi’s sons get along well with Hassan’s daughter. This is based on the videos posted on their Instagram accounts.

Award

Outstanding Media Security Investigative Journalist Award in 2019.
