Jicho Pevu’s Mohammed Ali Biography, Age, Education, Career, Marriage, Kids, Salary, Net Worth and More

Mohammed Ali is a Kenyan MP politician and a former journalist. He is commonly known for his show ‘Jicho Pevu’ which aired on KTN. Ali uncovered matters on corruption, terrorism and drugs in the country and amongst leaders. He has received a lot of awards in journalism and  greatly recognized for his work in media.

Mohammed Ali is of the Borana Tribe which is found in parts of Isiolo County.

Education

He started his primary education and ended it at Thika Muslim Primary School. The MP then went to Moi University where he studied and graduated with bachelor’s degree in Communication and Public relations. Later on, he attended News Link Institute of Journalism and acquired a diploma in journalism.

Career

Mohammed Ali started his career after graduating at Pwani FM as an intern where he went for nine months without pay. This was difficult for him hence he quit and joined the Kenya Broadcasting Channel (KBC). He then worked at Radio Salaam as a producer before finally settling for KTN in 2007. At KTN, he launched an investigative show called ‘Jicho Pevu’ where he uncovered several corruption scams and drugs.

During this time, his fame became apparent as he continued the show and received a lot of threats from powerful people. The public, however, was happy with his great work. In 2016, he declared his interest in politics and intention to run for Nyali MP using the ODM ticket. He lost during the nominations and blamed governor Joho for it therefore leading to feuds before he finally settled for independent candidate. Mohammed Ali won the election in 2017 and has been a serving member of Nyali Constituency.

Ali is happily married to Rukiya Noordin and they are proud parents to two children.
