Kellen Beatrice Kanze Dena is a former Swahili Journalist and News Anchor at Royal Media. Currently, she is the spokesperson of the Executive office of the president and Head of President’s Strategic Communication Unit (PSCU).
Age
Kanze Dena was born on 12th April 1980 in Kwale County. Part of her childhood was spent in Nairobi.
Family
Her parents are of Duruma descent but was raised by a single mum, Jane Dena. She is the 4th born in a family of six children. Sadly, her mother died of colon cancer just one year after joining Citizen TV.
Education
She went to Kianjokoma Primary School in Embu. In a past interview, Kanze revealed that she had self-esteem issues because she had bow legs and her body grew faster than all her classmates. She later joined Kieni Girls High School where she was active in Drama. Shhhe did her KCSE in 1997.
She wanted to join KMTC and tried for years but failed. She did a secretarial course in Nairobi before she joined Foundation College of Professional Studies and pursued Journalism and Mass Communication.

Kanze was a waitress, dish washer and peeled potatoes in her grandfather’s restaurant in Mombasa before she quit after getting pregnant.
Career
Dena was an intern at KBC radio station as a Swahili news reader. She was later hired officially in KBC TV and worked alongside Badi Mubsin. Dena worked there for six years before joining Citizen TV where she became one of the top journalists in the country.
She became really close to Lulu Hassan and the two hosted Nipashe Wikendi. Their great chemistry attracted many viewers and fans. Kanze Dena also worked as a director in the same station.
Luck shone upon her when was appointed by the president as Deputy State House spokesperson and deputy head in charge of digital research, branding and press at the State House. She is the current spokesperson of the executive office of the president and head of President’s Strategic Communication Unit.
Kanze Dena Husband and Kids
She fell pregnant while she was a waitress and in an effort to hide from her mother, she quit her job and went to Nairobi where she wanted to get rid of it. Her mother, however found out and she delivered a girl, Natasha Anzani. Sadly, the girl died shortly afterwards.
Later on, Kanze Dena got pregnant again but this time miscarried the pregnancy. She is now blessed with a handsome son, Nathaniel Amani and co parents with the father who is not revealed to the public. She is said to be married to Nick Mararo in an exclusive wedding that took place at Sweet Waters Serena inside the Ole Pejeta conservancy
Salary
Her new job at State House earns her Ksh.800,000 net salary. This does not include some allowances and benefits that come with the job.
