Ken Wa Kuraya is a Kenyan news anchor currently working for inooro TV. Ken presents alongside popular presenter Muthoni wa Mukiri. Their chemistry on TV has often made people mistake them to be a couple but they are not. Ken is a also a country music singer with a band known as the ‘Sherrif Band’

Age and Family

He was born on July 19^th in 1984 in Ndaragwa, Nyandarua County. He is the last born in a family of 5 children. They were all raised by a single mother.

Education

He went to Ol Kalau High School where he did his KCSE. After HighSchool, Ken left to pursue acting.

Career

After High School, Ken Wa Kuraya decided to venture into acting. After a while he quit due to low pay and ventured into selling mtumba clothes. He also worked in a pharmacy for a very long time. Ken wa Kuraya is also a certified bodyguard. He revealed this in an interview with Citizen TV. All this hustles made him reconsider going back to acting.

Ken wa Kuraya’s big break came when he joined Tahidi High, a drama series on Citizen TV as Teacher Kandi. Years of TV acting prepared him for the next stage of his TV career as a news anchor. When WA Kuraya heard that Royal Media services was opening a Kikuyu TV station, he decided to give it a try and he became Inooro TV’s prime time news anchor.

During his acting career, Ken landed a role on popular Kenyan drama series, Tahidi High. In the show, Ken played the role of Kandi, a Geography teacher.

His big opportunity came when Royal Media held interviews for an opening at Inooro TV station. He took part and was lucky to get the chance to be one of the presenters on the local TV station. Ken is also known to love country music and a big charity man. He often feeds street children.

Ken Wa Kuraya does not love to share details about his love life publicly. However, it is known that he is a father to 2 children. In 2023, Ken revealed the age of one his sons on live television when by wishing him a happy 20th birthday. Ken’s daughter is called Naserian. This was revealed by his former househelp in a controversial video.

Controversy

In 2022, Ken wa Kuraya was accused of neglecting his son that he sired with his former househelp. n a video shared on Facebook by Wairimu Kimani, the always dapper news anchor is said to have fathered a child with his domestic worker sometime in 2015. The baby, Jayden, is alleged to be a special needs child.
