Onesimus Kipchumba Murkomen is a Kenyan professional lawyer, political analyst and the senator for Elgeyo Marakwet County. He was formerly the majority leader in the senate house before losing to Samuel Phogisio. Kipchumba Murkomen is a die hard supporter of Deputy President William Ruto. This has landed him into trouble with the president’s allies.

He was born on 12th March 1979 in Embobut forest Village. Murkomen grew up in the same village.
Kipchumba Murkomen Family
Kipchumba belongs to the Kalenjin Community and he and his family members were squatters while growing up. They all were strong believers of the Catholic Church denomination and he has since been a devout member of the church.
Kipchumba Murkomen Education
He did his primary national exams twice before he got good results and joined St. Joseph’s High School Kitale. Murkomen later on transferred to his dream school; St. Patrick’s High School Iten. He then joined The University of Nairobi to pursue a bachelors degree in law and he was the chairman of Kenya Law Society. Kipchumba reformed the student’s Union then and held so many top and powerful leadership positions. He went for further his studies at Washington College of Law in United States of America and University of Pretoria in South Africa.
Career
His career kicked off when he was very young. Credit can be given to the many leadership positions he had while in the university. He was also a dining hall prefect in high school, having thoroughly campaigned for it and loved by the student’s body. His official career, however, began when he became one of the founder members of the United Republican Party (URP) in 2012 which is currently part of the Jubilee Coalition.
In February 2013, he formed an alliance with the TNA party and was voted into office as the first senator in March 2013 by the party alliance. In 2017, he was re-elected into office by Jubilee party. He is also a political analyst and lectures several universities such as Catholic University of East Africa, Moi University and University of Nairobi. Further, he has his own law firm, Sing’oe Murkomen and Sigei Advocates where he has partnered with some of his friends and colleagues.
Marriage
Kipchumba Murkomen is happily married to Gladys Wanjiru Kipchumba and they are blessed and proud parents of two sons and a daughter. Rumors emerged that the Senator was having a romantic affair with Naisula Lesuuda who is a nominated senator. They both denied the claims and there has since been no mention of it.
