Chris Kirubi is undoubtedly one of the richest men in Kenya, a billionaire at that. Chris wears many hats, apart from being a renowned businessman and entrepreneur; he is also an industrialist and philanthropist. He has an empire spreading all over Africa and beyond. What many people do not know however, is the fact that Chris was born in a poor family in Rwathia village in Murang’a County.
He took up the role of providing for the family after his parents passed on. Chris Kirubi has however risen to own some of the biggest Companies in the country including the Centum Investment where he is the director and largest individual shareholder. Chris Kirubi is also a family man.
He divorced his wife in 1999 but in a past interview, he revealed that he has two children. One, a son, works at Brussels and doubles up as a global leader. According to Chris Kirubi, his son is paid so much money that he has refused to work for him. Robert Kirubi holds a bachelor of science degree from the Northeastern University based in Boston, USA. Before flying to the US, Robert attended local schools in Kenya included Hillcrest School and St Mary’s School where his schoolmates included President Uhuru Kenyatta and media personality Jeff Koinange.

The second one is a daughter called Maryanne Wambui Musangi. She is the one a few people are aware of. She tries to keep her life out of the public limelight and a few things are known about her.
Maryanne follows her father’s footsteps in business. She is the owner of Secret Garden, a continental restaurant in Nairobi, Kenya. Maryanne has an MSc in Management from the University of Surrey, UK. She has worked in Branding management in big Companies such as Cocacola, KCB, Ogilvy and Mather. Chris Kirubi’s daughter is also the director at Sidian Bank. Maryanne is a proud wife to Andrew Mukite Musangi and mother to beautiful kids.
In a past interview with a local daily, Maryanne revealed the struggle she went through after her parents’ divorce. She described her mother as lovely, hardworking and reserved and believes she took most of her traits from her. Chris Kirubi views marriage as a form of slavery.
