Education

Wycliffe started his early education in Mabole Primary School. He then proceeded to Butere Boys where he completed his secondary education. For his A level education, he attended Kisii High School. The politician acquired a degree in Business Communication from University of Nairobi. In addition, he also has a PhD.

Oparanya is one of the people who are open about their polygamous situation. He is married with two wives, Caroline Mchome Ambetsa and Priscilla Oparanya. Moreover, he has three kids; Doreen, Onduso and Ambetsa.

Career

Before his political debut, he was a public account as well as member of ICPAK. His contribution to accounting was awarded in 2014 and he became a member of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya(FCPA).In 2007, he became a member of the national meeting of Kenya for one term while representing Butere Constituency. Additionally, he became a Member of Parliament for the same constituency unseating Amukowa Anangwe. Oparanya was first elected into office first in 2013 as governor Kakamega County using the ODM ticket. Later on, he was reelected in 2017 for the second term. He is a member of many bodies and well respected in the accounting world. During his reign, he has established the Oparanya Care. It is a health maternity program for women. He has also made a lot of developments including infrastructure and education.
