Yvonne Buliba Okwara Matole is a social media personality and journalist based in Kenya. She has risen to become one of the most sought after media personlaities in Kenya.

Yvonne was born on 16^th March in 1983 in Nairobi Kenya. Many people have always speculated that she either Luo or Luhya. However, at one time she resorted to speaking Luhya live on air to calm down an agitated caller and that gave away her tribe.

Family

Yvonne is the last born in a family of 3. Her mother is called Esther Mbale Sande. However, Yvonee’s brother died in 2018 aged 50. He was deaf blind and abled differently.

Education

Yvonne went to All Saints Cathedral Primary school in Nairobi for her primary school education. She later joined Kianda High School for her Secondary School education. Yvonne Okwara went to Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology where she pursued a Microbiology degree.

Career

Yvonne Okwara’s passion and career in  journalism started when she was very young. When she was just 10 years old, Yvonne hosted KBC’s Children Variety Show.

However, her first job after graduating was at Walkers hotel where she was paid Ksh.150 only per day.

She later joined Hot 96 radio where she started her career officially by presenting the news. She later joined NTV and did voice overs for the show, Money Matters. When NTV opened their sister channel QTV, Yvonne applied as a producer. In 2008, she was the talk show producer of QFM.

In November 2012, Yvonne Okwara joined the KTN crew as a senior anchor and content producer. She also hosted other programs including Sunday night’s show and Checkpoint. She worked for KTN for 5 years before she left to join Citizen TV in 2018.

Yvonne has hosted and moderated some of the biggest events both locally and internationally. She moderated Kenya’s presidential debate in 2017.

Husband

Yvonne Okwara met her husband, Andrew Matole Konde, when she had taken her sick pet to the vet. Andrew is a Veterinary surgeon. The two tied the knot in a wedding ceremony which took place at Crown Plaza Hotel in Nairobi.

Andrew Matole has a first wife called Alice Manyola and have 3 children together. However, the two are not officially divorced yet, they only parted ways after Alice accused Andrew of sleeping around. Rumors claimed Yvonne and Andrew had to change the wedding venue to prevent the wife from intruding.

Yvonne and Andrew are yet to have a child together.

Salary

The renowned presenter Ksh.700000 per month.
