Trevor Ombija is a Kenyan journalist and reporter at Citizen TV.

Age and Family

He was born on 10^th September 1988 in Nyakach constituency in Kisumu County. He is 32 years old as of 2020. Even though the names of his family are not known, Trevor mentioned in a previous interview that his father worked as a teacher in the village.

Education

He went to Anding’o Opanga for his Secondary School education. Trevor then joined the prestigious University of Nairobi where he pursued a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism.

Career

Before joining the media industry, Trevor tried other career paths. He  worked as an associate Send out facilitator at The Global Coordination Organization but left the job in April 2011. Later on, he worked as a desktop manager at CCTV Africa, now CGTN as from May 2012 up until July 2013.

In 2013, Trevor started working as a news anchor at Nation FM. He later landed a job in NTV where he worked as a senior news anchor, reporter and associate producer. He featured very prominent politicians in his interviews and established himself as one of the top news anchors.

Later Trevor was employed as a senior anchor and reporter Citizen TV where he is working to date. He hosts the Monday Prime Time Bulletin with other senior presenters such as Mashirima Kapombe and Waihiga Mwaura.

Not much has been known of the presenter’s life as some people claimed he is engaged. A lady, identifies as one of her colleagues once posted a photo of her with him and captioned it ‘’Bae’’. It is, however, not known if the two are an item and people speculated for a while. In an interview August 2021, he revealead that his fiance left his after ten years of dating. He even took dowry to her place and this left him heartbroken.

As part of precautionary measures during the corona virus pandemic, Citizen introduced measures for the news anchors to work from home. Trevor was one of the news anchors who wowed many Kenyans with the outlook of his house.

One can easily tell that Trevor is taking life with a big spoon from the way his house looks. It is well furnished complete with a flight of stairs.

Salary

Trevor earns approximately KES 300,000 per month.
