Eric Njoka is a Kenyan journalist and TV personality. Eric currently works for India’s Zee TV, Zee News English as a news anchor.

Family and Childhood
Eric comes from a relatively well-off background since his father was a nominated Member of Parliament. In a past interview, the presenter revealed that he lost his mother to cancer. His father was a morgue manager and wanted Eric to take over. Eric’s father did not respect or support his career as a journalist.
When he was just 2 months old, Erick was diagnosed with a dangerous condition and doctors thought he was not going to make it. He had his first surgery at two months and had seven surgeries until he was seventeen years.
Eric Njoka Education
Njoka attended St. Joseph’s High School Githunguri in Kiambu. He later joined Tangaza College and got a diploma in Social Communication although he wanted a degree but could not get it as he was doing studies and media at the same time.
Career
Eric Njoka started his journey in media in 2008 in K24 where he interned as a reporter for four months before being employed full time. He also worked for CCTV Africa (now CGTN) for a while. He then went to KTN in 2011 as a full time news anchor before his dismissal from the station.
In 2014, Eric took up his family business as a morgue attendant and manager in 2014 something he came to love as a hobby. He finally landed a job in Mediamax as a news anchor where he hosted Evening Edition alongside Karen Karima. He also took up the role of editor in 2019 after the media house laid off some employees. After he was fired from K24 in 2020, Eric landed a job at Zee Media Corporation Limited, India’s largest news Network. Eric still works as a mortician on the side and urges Kenyans not to fear the morgue as it is just like a hospital.

The reporter dated fellow journalist Sharon Momanyi for a while. This was concluded after photos of them looking cozy in each other’s arms emerged. However, their relationship did not last and they did not clarify on why they ended things. Eric has also shared photos of his girlfriend severally online. The young light skinned lady is indeed beautiful. Since Eric prefers to keep his love life private, not many details are known about her or their current status.
Controversy
Chats were leaked online from a guy claiming that Eric was asking for sex from him something that made many judge him as gay. They allegedly met on Grindr, a dating site. He came out and said it was a blackmail as the guy approached him demanding KSH60000 or else he will expose the made up chats and he told him off thinking he was joking. He came out to clear the rumors categorically stating that he was not gay.
