Ken Lusaka Makelo is the current speaker of the senate in Kenya. He is also a politician having served as the first governor of Bungoma County. The man has had several controversies over the years. During his tenure as Bungoma Governor, an audit report revealed that the County had purchased 10 wheelbarrows for Ksh.1,000,000. He went ahead to defend the purchase claiming the wheelbarrows were non-carcinogenic.
Far from work and politics, Lusaka is a family man. He exchanged vows with a beautiful lady called Margaret Makelo. Margaret has PhD in plant breeding and works in the ministry of Agriculture.
The two lovebirds met in the University of Nairobi in 1988 and got married the following year, 1989. Together the couple have 3 children, 2 daughters and 1 son. Their children are all grown and some married with kids. They have two grandchildren.
Lusaka enjoys listening to Lingala music as one of his hobbies. He also loves acting and believes he would have been an actor or comedian had he not joined politics.
Kenneth and Margaret live in a house valued at over Ksh.150,000,000. It is located in Karen along Bogani road. The house has a huge compound and has a 50 meter driveway. Inside the house are two living rooms and a prayer room. In 2012 it was ranked as being one of Nairobi’s most expensive houses.
