Peter Kenneth was born on 27th November 1965 in Gatanga Constituency found in Murang’a County.
Family
The politician’s whole family has their background in Murang’a County where he was born. His mother passed away on 18th July 2019. Rahab Wambui, his late mother, was the only parent he had who raised them single handedly but successfully.
Education
Peter Kenneth started his early education at Bahati Uhuru Primary School and later on joined Starehe Boys Centre in Nairobi for his secondary education. The politician later then went to study for a degree in law at the University of Nairobi. He was a smart student and got a Masters in the same course. After that, Kenneth joined an executive program at the International Institute for Management Development in Switzerland where he finally completed his education.
Peter Kenneth Career
Before joining politics, he worked for Nationwide Company since 1985 then moved to Presidential Finance Company one year later. Peter Kenneth worked there for about two decades before he was elected chairman of the Kenya Football Federation in 2000. In 2008, he worked for the Kenya Reinsurance Corporation. At around the same time he also worked in the Africa reinsurance Corporation as part time. In 1998, he became the director of Industrial development bank. In addition, he worked at Zen Insurance Company.
Peter Kenneth Political Career
His political career debuted in 2002 when he vied and was elected as Gatanga Constituency MP . In November 2003, he was appointed the assistant minister for finance. He held his parliamentary position until 2013 and Gatanga Constituency was voted the best managed Constituency and utilization of resources and funds. In 2013, he made his attempt for presidency and was a member of the Kenya National Congress (KNC). Unfortunately, he lost but was later appointed the assistant minister in the ministry of planning, national development and vision 2030. He joined a coalition to form the Eagle Coalition. He is allegedly vying for presidency in the 2022 elections although these are speculations that are yet to be confirmed.
Peter Kenneth Marriage
Peter is happily married to Anne Kenneth and the two are blessed with two kids; Andrew and Andrea. Despite his busy political life, he has managed to be available for his family whom he adores. His family remains supportive of his career and appear at various events to support his career.
